Cheryl's Daycare Receives Certificate of Excellence

 

Cheryl’s Daycare, owned and operated by Cheryl West, has recently been awarded a Certificate of Excellence in recognition of exemplary dedication to childhood immunization from the Montana Department of Health and Human Services. Cheryl has operated a daycare out of her home here in White Sulphur Springs since 2005. Cheryl has about a dozen children attend her daycare during the school year, taking a well- deserved break in the summer.

 

There are laws governed by the state affecting registered daycares in Montana.  Laws and rules are in place to ensure the safety and health of the children attending daycares. Among those, are regulations for immunizations of all attending children and those working and residing there. Those records must be obtained from parents, stored on site, monitored for compliance, and action taken for those that are not in compliance. Up to date immunizations are important to protect infants who are still completing their immunizations and to prevent outbreak of disease among children.

 

Cheryl has worked with the local health department and the parents to ensure that all immunization records are up to date and in good standing for her state visit every year. Cheryl has gone the extra mile to vaccinate herself and her family according to the additional recommendations for daycare workers to help prevent vaccine preventable disease.
