At approximately 1:48 pm Meagher County 9-1-1 dispatch received a call was a previous prescribed burn reigniting. A Sheriff’s Officer responded to the scene and as the fire was headed to a plowed field the landowners were notified of the situation.
At approximately 3:54 pm Meagher County 9-1-1 dispatch received a call of a victim with their foot caught under a heavy piece of equipment and they couldn’t get him out. The Meagher County Ambulance, Meagher County Fire and a Sheriff’s Officer responded to the scene. Meagher County Fire responded with engine 114, one of our execration trucks, with Tim Collins and Jack Berg, Fireman Lee Zehntner and Shane Sereday responded with their personnel vehicles. Fire personnel were able to use a frontend loader at the scene to lift the equipment off the victim. Ambulace personnel were able to stabilize the patient and transported them to Mountainview Medical Center.
Because of this incident Meagher County Fire purchased a hydraulic jack, for future calls were there might not be a large frontend loader.
